History Of
MASJID ALLAHU AKBAR
Project ALLAHU AKBAR started in the mid 80s in Brooklyn NY. The community members had the vision of Building a Mosque from the ground up as it was something that had never been done before by the African American Muslims in New York.
In the Early 90s, Some of the key figures in the community visited a Masjid that was then known as Masjid Musatqeem in Wyandanch NY. The property across the street from the Masjid was for sale.
In 1993 the community members made the decision to purchase the property and merge the Communities of Masjid Mustaqeem and Masjid ALLAHU AKBAR together and appointing Imam Al-Amin Latif as the Leader of the community.
